Israeli forces arrested a mother of five prisoners in the West Bank city of Nablus early Sunday, a Palestinian prisoners' rights center said.

The soldiers broke into the house of Rab'a Belal and detained the 65-year-old woman after searching her house in the northern West Bank town, Ahrar center said in a statement.

Five of Belal's sons are serving various sentences in Israeli jails, Ahrar added. The reason behind her detention is unclear.

Meanwhile, an Israeli army spokesman said the forces detained three Palestinians in the West Bank. The spokesman, speaking to the army radio, did not reveal further information.

Also on Sunday morning, a Palestinian man stabbed an Israeli settler in the south of Bethlehem city, Israeli sources said.

The 22-year-old settler was moderately injured and the assailant managed to flee towards the Palestinian controlled areas of the holy city, according to the sources.
