Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit warned on Wednesday that Palestinian parties which hinder reconciliation efforts are not actually pursuing a Palestinian unity.

"I can't imagine that a party which make negative movements regarding reaching a reconciliation agreement is really working for Palestinian unity," Abul Gheit said at a news briefing in the headquarters of the Egypt's foreign ministry on Wednesday.

Abul Gheit's comments came after Gaza ruling Islamic Hamas movement requested Egypt on Wednesday to postpone an inter-Palestinian dialogue to sign a reconciliation deal due on Oct. 26.

A source close to Hamas told Xinhua on condition of anonymity that Hamas sets its conditions for joining the dialogue in Cairo late this month on an apology of Abbas to the Palestinian people.

"Abbas should apologize to the Palestinian people because he personally asked for postponement of a vote on the United Nations fact-finding report that convicted the Israeli occupation for war crimes against Gaza," said the source.

The Gaza report led by South African judge Richard Goldstone found Israel guilty of committing war crimes and possibly crimes against humanity. It also said the rockets on southern Israel, fired by Hamas during the fighting, violated laws of war.
