The Lebanese army and UN Interim Forces for Lebanon (UNIFIL) are preparing on high alert for the Israeli military maneuvers which will take place on Sunday, official National News Agency (NNA) reported.

Lebanese army troops and UN peacekeepers were deployed along south Lebanon borders in anticipation of any emergency, the report said.

Meanwhile, Israeli tractors and heavy machinery were reported to be fortifying military positions outside the Lebanese borders.

The Israeli army raised new wire fences around the surveillance tower overlooking Shebaa town which is partially occupied by Israel, the report said, adding that new military posts were staged overlooking Lebanese region of al-Arqoub.

The Israeli military maneuver "Turning Point 3" will simulate rocket strikes from Gaza and Lebanon and missiles attacks from Syria and Iran, as well as rescue and medical services during earthquakes and epidemics.

Hassan Nasrallah, chief of the Lebanese Shiite armed group Hezbollah, warned on Monday that his party will "completely destroy" Israeli troops if they try to attack Lebanon, and assured that his militants are ready for any attempt.
