Iranian president says Iranian army guarantee regional security

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Saturday that Iran's Armed Forces which are the most powerful in the region guarantee the region's security.

Ahmadinejad made the comments during a speech on a ceremony marking Iran's Army Day.

"Iran's Armed Forces guarantee the region's security," Ahmadinejad said, "and today the Iranian nation is fully prepared to contribute to global management and security establishment based on justice."

He praised Iran's military achievements and Iranian Army's role in maintaining national security, adding that "threat against Iran has been relieved forever."

The celebrations continued with a march by the Military's aerial, ground, and naval forces and a display of their latest defense equipment.

The country's leading political and military figures attended the ceremony which was held at the Mausoleum of the Founder of the Islamic Republic, the late Imam Khomeini.
