At least one person was killed when a helicopter made an emergency landing Tuesday in Russia's central Sverdlovsk region, a spokesman for the regional emergencies administration said.

According to the spokesman, the Mi-8 helicopter, owned by the Uktus air carrier, made the emergency landing some 90 km west of the regional capital city of Yekaterinburg.

There were four people on board and it was not immediately clear whether the other three survived, RIA Novosti news agency said.

Another Mi-8 carrying nine rescuers was expected to soon reach the site of the accident.

This was the third report about Mi-8 crash landing in just one week. On Sunday, a Mi-8 helicopter made a safe emergency landing in the Western Siberian Krasnoyarsk region after its engine failed. On July 12, in the northern Komi Republic another Mi-8 made crash landing and left no casualties.
