Russia and Switzerland on Wednesday signed a declaration concerning cooperation in modernization and mutual investment.

The document, signed during a visit by Swiss President Michelin Calmy-Rey, reflected the two sides' willingness to cooperate in the innovation, investment and advanced technologies, said Economic Development Minister Elvira Nabiullina.

Before the signing, Calmy-Rey and President Dmitry Medvedev visited the town of Kolomna near Moscow to attend the launch of a cement plant built with Switzerland's assistance.

The Russia-Switzerland declaration supplements a three-year plan for economic cooperation between Moscow and Bern.
