Representatives of Palestinian factions have agreed on the parameters of the future Palestine state that would be recognized by all of them, including Hamas, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.

According to Sergei Vershinin, the ministry's Director of Middle East and North Africa, the participants of the talks held near Moscow earlier this week agreed that the future Palestinian state must be established on the basis of the dividing lines which existed before June 4, 1967.

In a statement posted on the ministry's website, Vershinin said that the meeting's communique was "constructive." The priority now has been swift formation of the Palestinian independent technocratic government which would prepare general elections in the next year, he added.

The diplomat stressed that if the Palestinian state wants to be independent, viable and living in peace with Israel, it must be created only on the basis of national unity.

He added that Moscow has planned to continue its efforts to attain sound inter-Palestinian unity.

Delegations of Palestinian Fatah and Hamas movements held a closed-door meeting on implementation of the Cairo deal in Moscow on Monday.
