5.9-magnitude quake hits Crete, Greece -- USGS

An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale jolted Crete, Greece at 13:29:12 GMT on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey, monitored here, said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 77.90 km, was initially determined to be at 35.7287 degrees north latitude and 26.4546 degrees east longitude.
