Four people have been arrested in connection with match-fixing in the Finnish Premier League team RoPS, local police said on Thursday.

"Today four people were arrested in connection with the preliminary investigation into match-fixing," Finland's National Bureau of Investigation said, bringing the total number of people in custody to nine.

The investigation started in February as a Singaporean man who was travelling in Finland with forged identity documents was detained.

"According to Singaporean officials and public accounts, the man has been linked to several match-fixing cases," the bureau said.

Police said the investigation is underway.
