Dynamics in Middle East region is expected to impact Swiss' trade and investment for a short term, Swiss ambassador to Indonesia said on Tuesday.

Swiss Ambassador to Indonesia Heinz Walker-Nederkoorn said that he saw an optimism in the medium and short terms.

"In the short term, of course it creates uncertainty for trade and investment for my country. But in the long term perspective, it would be positive, both in trade and investment as Swiss and Egypt have a free trade agreement. We also have such agreement with some other countries in the region,"Nederkoorn said.

He said that it needs some times for the region to go back to stable.

"And, hopefully, economic activities would not be impacted its full tension. In the medium and long term, we see this with optimism,"he said.
