"For the first nine months the trade turnover between our countries has increased by 40 percent and I hope the figure would grow," Azarov said at a meeting with visiting Czech Deputy Prime Minister Karel Schwarzenberg.
Azarov noted Ukraine and the Czech Republic have established good neighborly and trade-economic relations.
The Ukrainian PM called on the Czech side to take an active part in the modernization of the Ukrainian gas transit system and extension of gas underground storage facilities.
Ukraine is interested in cooperating in the development of transit cargo traffic, adding that Ukraine would offer its services in the overhaul of engines for Czech aviation helicopters, he said.
For his part, Schwarzenberg said the Czech businesses are willing to invest in Ukraine.
