CIS intelligence services agree on joint action

Intelligence services of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) agreed to fight terrorism as well as counter attempts to recruit citizens into radical organizations, a Russian official said Thursday.
According to Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service spokesman Sergei Ivanov, the decision was made during the 11th meeting of the heads of security and intelligence services of the CIS countries. The meeting ended Thursday in Baku, Azerbaijan.
During the two-day meeting, delegations of all CIS countries were present, Ivanov said.
Azerbaijan's National Security Minister Eldar Makhmudov was elected head of the rotating chairmanship of the CIS security and intelligence forum, the Itar-Tass news agency reported.
