Foreign Minister of Pakistan Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi paid a one-day working visit to Poland on Wednesday at the invitation of Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, the Polish Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
The ministers reviewed issues relating to bilateral relations, including the development of trade and investment contacts.
Qureshi informed Sikorski of the interest of Pakistani firms in opening their representation offices in Poland and setting up operational centers in the EU market.
The two also discussed EU-Pakistan relations, including steps aimed at the broadening of access for Pakistani products to the EU market. This, according to the Pakistani side, would be the quickest and most efficient way of support for the modernization process in Pakistan.
The two sides discussed the situation in Pakistan in the wake of the worst flooding in 80 years, in which some one thousand people lost their lives and millions of others lost their homes.
Sikorski reiterated Poland's support to the reconstruction efforts in Pakistan, according to the Polish Foreign Ministry.
