On Wednesday, the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament approved the deployment of troops to support a contingent already on the ground in Afghanistan.
In October, a unit of about 45 soldiers is expected to be deployed as part of the Danish contingent of the ISAF in the Helmandu region, noted for severe conflicts between NATO troops and the Taliban. Bosnian soldiers are expected to secure the Danish base for a six-month period.
The collective Bosnian Presidency and the House of Representatives had previously supported the bill to send members of the Bosnian Armed Forces to Afghanistan.
Bosnia, which hopes to join NATO, sent 10 officers to serve with the ISAF in 2009.
