Polish-Ukrainian railway offers to serve EURO 2012

Heads of Polish State Railways and Ukrainian Railways met in Warsaw Thursday to discuss an offer for the Euro 2012 soccer championships, spokesman for Polish State Railways Michal Wrzosek said.
The firms are planning to prepare a special offer of railway connections between main Polish and Ukrainian towns for the time of the championships.
Trains travelling on routes linking Polish and Ukrainian towns hosting the championships will use a special automatic system altering wheel tracks from standard to wide-gauge ones, used in Ukraine.
The main railway border crossings between Poland and Ukraine will be Drohousk and Medyka. The two sides will prepare and appropriate number of trains to service the connections through these border crossings.
The 2012 European Soccer Championship will take place in Poland and Ukraine.
