Foreign Minister Kostyantyn Gryshchenko on Thursday urged the European Union to approve an action plan on lifting visa requirements for Ukrainians travelling to EU countries.

"We have worked out an action plan concerning visa-free regime with the European Union and hope it will be accepted in autumn this year," Gryshchenko said at a briefing after a meeting with Finnish Foreign Minister Alexsander Stubb.

The talks with the EU on a visa-free regime are being pushed forward "very actively," Gryshchenko said.

He said Ukraine has developed a concrete plan on approving relevant laws to solve the remaining technical problems.

Stubb said Finland is a strong supporter of Ukraine inside the EU and believes in the success of the country's road to integration.

"I think Ukraine must continue to work hard in order to get the visa-free regime as a result. I suppose Ukraine will get it done over the next few years," Stubb said.
