Britain is to take diplomatic action relating to the hit-squad killing of a Hamas commander, local media reported on Tuesday.

According to reports, an Israeli diplomat is to be expelled over the cloning of British passports used by the alleged assassins of a Hamas commander in Dubai.

Mahmoud Al Mabhouh, a senior commander of Hamas military wing the Ezzedeen Al Qassam Brigades, was found dead in his hotel room on Jan. 20, a day after he arrived in Dubai.

The British Foreign Ministry said six Britons are now known to have had their identities cloned by the alleged Israeli hit squad. Foreign Secretary David Miliband will make a statement to Parliament later.
