Russian gov't allocates 20 bln rubles for vehicle purchase

The Russian government has earmarked20 billion rubles (around 681.7 million U.S. dollars) in the 2010 budget for purchase of vehicles, local media reported Monday.

Russian Emergency Situations Ministry, Interior Ministry and Defense Ministry will get 5.3 billion rubles, 5.2 billion rubles and 3 billion rubles, respectively.

The fund can be used to buy made-in Russia vehicles only, in a bid to boost domestic demand.
