The outgoing NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer will pay a farewell visit to Macedonia on Friday, news reaching here from Skopje reported on Thursday.

The NATO chief is scheduled to meet Macedonian President Branko Crvenkovski, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, Defense Minister Zoran Konjanovski and Foreign Minister Antonio Milososki, Macedonia's official news agency MIA, reported.

His mandate as NATO chief will soon come to an end. He will be succeeded by former Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen, who is going to take office on Aug. 1.
