Bulgaria on Thursday strongly condemned the the terrorist act in which Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto was assassinated.

The Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Bulgaria extended its deepest condolences to Bhutto's family.

Bhutto, Pakistan's former prime minister, died Thursday evening in hospital from fatal wounds sustained in attacks during her election rally at the Liaquat Bagh park in Rawalpindi, some 30 km south of Islamabad.
