Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Portugal and attend a Russia-EU summit this week with economic cooperation, energy, missile defense, Kosovo and Iran issues top on the agenda.
Putin will start a two-day visit to Portugal on Thursday. He was scheduled to hold talks with Portuguese President Anibal Antonio Cavaco Silva and Prime Minister Jose Socrates, the Kremlinsaid on Wednesday.
On Oct. 26, Putin will attend a Russia-European Union summit in the Portuguese city of Mafra.
During the visit, Putin will raise such topics as the U.S. missile defense plans, the Conventional Forces in Europe treaty, Kosovo and Iran, as well as economic issues.
Russian presidential aide and special adviser for the Russian-EU relations Sergei Yastrzhembsky said on Wednesday that Russia will resume talks with EU on a new partnership agreement. Source:Xinhua
