4 killed, 13 injured in night shootings in Chicago

CHICAGO, July 24 (Xinhua) -- Officials said that four people were killed and at least 13 others injured in separate overnight shootings in Chicago, the United States, according to Chicago Tribune on Sunday.

The first of four homicide victims, Robin Winston, a 53-year- old woman, was shot in her chest and abdomen and taken in critical condition to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. She was pronounced dead at 6:52 p.m. local time, according to a spokesman for the medical examiner.

The violence began with a shooting at 6:20 p.m. Saturday, and the incidents continued until 5:30 a.m. Sunday, police said.

No one was in custody for any of the shootings. Police detectives were investigating the shootings.
