5.4-magnitude quake hits south of Panama -- USGS

An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale jolted south of Panama at 15:51:30 GMT on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey, monitored here, said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 17.60 km, was initially determined to be at 7.0785 degrees north latitude and 82.2921 degrees west longitude.
