U.S. President Barack Obama will meet with New Zealand Prime Minister John Key at the White House later this month on a number of issues of common concern, the White House said on Thursday.

In their meeting scheduled for July 22, Obama "looks forward to discussing with Prime Minister Key the close friendship and partnership between our two countries, our shared interest in stability, growth and effective regional institutions in the Asia Pacific, and our cooperation in addressing challenges like Afghanistan and Antarctica," the White House said in a brief statement.
