U.S. President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron held a phone conversation on Wednesday, discussing increasing military, diplomatic and economic pressure on Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, the White House said in a statement.

The two agreed that UN Security Council resolutions on Libya must be "fully implemented," said the statement.

In addition to "increasing military pressure," the leaders discussed the importance of "increasing diplomatic and economic pressure on the Gaddafi regime," said the statement.

The two leaders also noted the "international consensus" achieved at last week's Contact Group meeting in Doha and the NATO Foreign Ministerial Meeting in Berlin, the statement added.
