6.5 magnitude quake hits Mexico

An earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter Scale hit Mexico at 9:11 p.m. Beijing Time Thursday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.

The epicenter was monitored at 17.5 degrees north latitude and 94.0 degrees west longitude with a depth of about 170 kilometers, the center said.
