U.S. government mobilizes 47 million dollars to aid refugees on Tunisian- Libyan border

The United States government has mobilized 47 million dollars in humanitarian aid to refugees on the Tunisian-Libyan border, a senior U.S. official said.

Eric P. Schwartz, US Assistant Secretary of State for population, refugees and migration, reaffirmed the U.S. government 's support to the Tunisian people and called on the international community to provide further aid to the refugees still stranded on the Tunisian-Libyan borders, reported the Tunisian press agency TAP on Thursday.

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is expected to travel to Tunisia, as part of a visit on March 14 to 17 to France, Tunisia and Egypt. In Tunisia, she will meet with the heads of the Libyan opposition.
