U.S. combined household wealth gained more than 2 trillion U.S. dollars in the fourth quarter last year, advanced by the financial assets rally, but real estate value continued to edge down, according to figures released by the U.S. Federal Reserve on Thursday.

U.S. household net worth rose by 2.1 trillion dollars from the third quarter to 56.8 trillion dollars in the fourth quarter of 2010.

However, the total U.S. household property value declined from a revised 18.37 trillion dollars in the third quarter to 18.19 trillion dollars in the fourth quarter, weighed down by the slackening property market.
