Six hostages were taken Friday during a robbery at a Chase Bank in the U.S. state of Texas, police said.

Five hostages were released three hours later but another hostage remained inside the Chase Bank in Pearland, police said. A bank manager was wounded.

"We're trying to resolve the situation peacefully," Pearland Police Lt. Onesmio Lopez was quoted by the Houston Chronicle as saying.

One suspect was taken into custody and another suspect remained inside the bank, police said.

The robbers entered the bank at around 11:30 a.m., wearing ski mask, witnesses said.

More than 50 police officers and FBI agents have reportedly surrounded the bank and sealed off surrounding streets.
