Venezuelan president Chavez arrives in Moscow for talks

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has arrived Thursday in Moscow on an official visit.
Chavez and his Russian host President Dmitry Medvedev were holding talks over dinner at the Russian presidential residence in Gorki just outside Moscow, RIA Novosti news agency reported.
Medvedev and Chavez, along with delegations from each of their countries, will discuss the pressing issues in Russian-Venezuelan relations in Kremlin on Friday.
After Russia, the Venezuelan president will go to Belarus, Ukraine and Iran.
Chavez last visited Russia in September 2009, when he announced that Venezuela had followed Moscow in recognizing the independence of the breakaway Georgian regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
