An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale jolted southern Peru at 07:15:49 GMT on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 176.90 km, was initially determined to be at 14.6922 degrees south latitude and 70.9565 degrees west longitude.
