Cuban parliament to hold 1st regular session of 2010

The Cuban parliament said on Monday it will convene this year's first regular session on August 1 at the Convention Palace.
It will be the V Regular Session Period of the VII Legislature of the The People's Power National Assembly of Cuba, said an official note signed by parliament chairman Ricardo Alarcon, without specifying what will be on the agenda.
The parliament is Cuba's supreme body of state power and it convenes twice a year.
At its last regular session in December, the lawmakers discussed the State Budget execution, the compliance of the last year's National Economy Plan and the guidelines of the Plan and Budget in 2010.
