Peru and Paraguay inked Tuesday a series of agreements to boost cooperation in trade, health and anti-drug issues.
Among them was "The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Design and Enforcement of a Scheme of Port Facilities, Economic and Integration Complementation," which was signed with the attendance of Peruvian President Alan Garcia and his visiting Paraguayan counterpart Fernando Lugo Mendez.
The agreement is considered as a strategic tool to promote bilateral trade, investment and tourism, as well as to design the implementation of port facilities including those in the zones of special treatment.
There was another MOU between Peruvian Health Ministry and Paraguayan Public and Social Welfare Ministry to promote the cooperation in public health.
Both nations also signed an inter-institutional MOU between the two Foreign Ministries on citizen security and crime prevention.
