Dominican R., Brazil agree on joint development projects

The Dominican Republic and Brazil have agreed to implement more than 10 joint development projects on energy, meteorology and electronics, the Dominican Economy, Planning and Development Ministry said on Friday.

Ministry officials said the investment for the projects is more than 1.13 million U.S. dollars, which will come from the Brazilian government and Dominican institutions.

Brazilian officials involved in the talks about the projects said the projects will promote the Dominican Republic's development and competitiveness.

Officials from both countries also stressed the importance to strengthen bilateral cooperation and friendship.
