Canadian Department of Finance announced Wednesday that Canada's official international reserves increased by an amount equivalent to 174 million U.S. dollars during April to 56.843 billion U.S. dollars.
As of April 30, 2010, the total securities and deposits of the country reached 45.439 billion U.S. dollars, gold equaled to 129 million U.S. dollars, special drawing rights (SDRs), 8.880 billion U.S. dollars, and reserve position in the IMF, 2.395 billion U.S. dollars.
