Lethal gas kills 8 miners in Peru

At least eight miners died on Wednesday after inhaling lethal gas in a mine in east Peru, local radio stations reported.

The accident occurred early Wednesday in a coal mine in Cajatambo province, 150 km north of Lima and with an altitude of 4,000 meters.

Bodies of the miners were taken to the morgue of the province in order to be examined, the report said.
