Mexico has sent its second military cargo ship carrying 200 tons of food and medicine to quake-stricken Haiti, a senior official said on Tuesday.

The ship, which was expected to arrive late on Tuesday, would be unloaded by a Mexican military team, said Jose Luis Flores Gomez of Mexico's General Civil Protection Directorate, at the UN Logistics Base in the Haitian capital.

Mexico's first aid ship has brought 200 tons of aid to Haiti and was returning to its home port of Veracruz in the Gulf of Mexico, Flores told Xinhua.

Mexican President Felipe Calderon announced that Mexico would send between 15 and 20 tons of relief materials every day to Haiti, soon after the devastating quake hit the Caribbean nation on Jan. 12, killing an estimated 150,000 people.
