Nobody was found inside a homemade balloon which landed in a Colorado field after a 6-year-old boy was seen to float away in the experimental craft on Thursday, CNN reported.

As soon as the balloon landed after traveling for over two hours, rescuers surrounded it, but found that the child was not inside. Officials were concerned that the boy may have fallen from the balloon, the report said.

According to local officials, the balloon was owned by the boy Falcon Heene's parents and tethered in the family's backyard. He was believed to have climbed into the balloon to fly away.
