The Brazilian government welcomed on Tuesday ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya with honors for a head of state.

The Honduran leader, deposed in a June 28 military coup, arrived at the Aerial Base of Brasilia at 7:35 p.m. local time.

Zelaya will meet on Wednesday with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. He thanked the Brazilian leader for having supported him and strongly condemned the coup.
