A passenger jet veered off a runway at Denver International Airport Saturday night, injuring dozens on board, according to press reports.
At least 36 people were injured in the incident which occurred as the jet attempted to take off on a flight to Houston, the Los Angeles Times said.
The jet, a Boeing 737, caught fire and forced the 112 passengers aboard to escape down emergency slides, said the report.
The plane nosed up into the air, then dropped down with a jolt before landing in a ravine, where passengers evacuated, the report quoted passengers as saying.
Fire officials said the passengers' injuries included broken bones, bruises and at least one head injury.
The incident caused some delays in Denver as well as other cities, including Los Angeles, said the report.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, the report added.
