The United States said Monday it is hopeful that NATO members will come up and announce more help for Afghanistan at the summit meeting in Romania from April 2-4.
"We've been saying for some time that all of us need to do more in Afghanistan, and I think you're going to see countries coming up and doing more," U.S. national security adviser Stephen Hadley said as U.S. President George W. Bush left for Romania on Monday to attend the summit.
The United States has urged NATO members to contribute more troops to the war-torn Afghanistan, and Bush has said he will urge NATO members to do so at the summit in Romania.
