Peru's National Drugs Control Directorate seized 413 kg of cocaine Sunday on a small boat with an outboard motor in the Peruvian Amazon, officials said.
The seizure took place on the Amazon River near the city of Iquitos, in an area where Colombia, Peru and Brazil share a border. The boat was bound for the Colombian city of Leticia.
Two men -- Gilbert Serruche Tajamil, 39, and Alfonso Bardales Quiroz, 27-- were arrested and an AKM automatic rifle was seized in the operation carried out by the National Drugs Control Directorate and the Iquitos Special Anti-drug Prosecutor's Office.
