Mexican President Felipe Calderon headed for the United States Sunday on a working visit that will run until Feb. 14, the presidential office said.
Calderon, First Lady Margarita Zavala and government officials will visit five U.S. cities -- New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and Sacramento, capital of California.
During his five-day visit, he is expected to hold talks with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and U.S. officials.
As a principal objective of his tour, Calderon will meet Mexican immigrant leaders and associations, said the presidential office.
In Boston, the president will pay a visit to Harvard University to give a speech at the John F. Kennedy School of Government and dine with distinguished academics.
On Wednesday, Calderon will meet with California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and sign an agreement between Mexico's Environment Ministry and California state.
The Mexican president will not meet his U.S. counterpart George W. Bush during his trip, the presidential office said.
