U.S. Democratic presidential hopeful Senator Hillary Clinton replaced her campaign manager with a longtime adviser, her campaign announced Sunday. Clinton's new campaign manager, Maggie Williams, served as her chief of staff when she was the first lady during Bill Clinton's administration.

Ex-campaign chief Patti Solis Doyle had been reassigned to a senior adviser's job, the Clinton campaign announced in a memo. The decision was made after Clinton's arch-rival, Democratic Senator Barack Obama, swept Saturday's Democratic contests, giving him considerable momentum heading into Sunday's Maine caucuses and three primaries Tuesday.

With victories in Louisiana, Nebraska, Washington and the Virgin Islands Saturday, the Illinois senator took the pledged-delegate lead over Clinton.

But Clinton, a senator from New York, has a 223-131 edge among the unpledged "super delegates," which leaves her leading the Democratic race 1,139-1,106, according to CNN's tally. Both candidates are now focusing on the upcoming Feb. 12 "Potomac primaries" in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia in which roughly 168 pledged delegates are at stake.
