U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will visit Ethiopia and Belgium early next month to attend meetings held in the two countries, State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said Thursday.
Rice will arrive in Addis Ababa, the Ethiopian capital, on Dec.5 to attend a meeting of leaders from the African Great Lakes region -- Rwanda, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda, McCormack said, adding that the meeting will discuss regional peace and security.
After that, Rice will travel to Brussels on Dec. 6 for a meeting of NATO foreign ministers to discuss Afghanistan, Kosovo and other issues. Rice will return to Washington on Dec. 7, McCormack said.
