At least nine people died and more than 60 others were injured in two separate road accidents in Pyuthan and Kavre districts in Nepal on Saturday.

According to The Kathmandu Post daily, a passenger jeep skidded off the road and fell 150 meters down in Pyuthan in mid-western Nepal on Saturday, killing five and injuring two others.

Eyewitnesses said the jeep was crammed beyond its capacity. Police suspect brake failure caused the mishap.

In Kavre district in central Nepal, at least four persons died and 63 others were injured, when a passenger bus fell 200 meters down the road on Saturday evening. Some of the injured are in critical condition.
