Vietnamese 13th National Assembly to hold first session in July

The Vietnamese 13th National Assembly (NA) will hold its first session from July 21 to Aug. 6 in Hanoi, Vietnamese Party General Secretary and NA Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong announced at the 42nd session of the 12th NA Standing Committee held here Thursday.

During the first session of 13th NA, deputies will elect NA chairman and vice Chairmen, and members of the NA Standing Committee, state president and vice presidents, prime minister and deputy prime ministers, and other high-ranking officials of the government cabinet.

Besides elections of the NA and state top leaders, deputies will review and decide other important issues including the program of law making in 2012; implementation and solutions for social and economic development plans in the second half of 2011; approval of the state budget expenditure; implementation of the 11th Party Congress' Resolution; establishment of the committee on the draft amendment and supplement of some articles of the 1992 Constitution.

The government's resolution on tax exemption, reduction and extension in 2011 will also be put into the working agenda of the 13th NA's first session, Trong said.
