Indonesia to host high level dialogue on sustainable development issues

Indonesia is scheduled to host High Level Dialogue on The Institutional Framework for Sustainable Development (HLD IFSD) in the city of Solo, Central Java from July 19 to 21, as a preparation towards Rio+20 Conference, a statement released by the environmental affairs ministry said here on Wednesday.

The event, code-named Solo Meeting, would be attended by senior officials that representing organizations and agencies concerning on sustainable development issues.

According to the statement, 250 officials from 80 countries, 10 UN bodies, 21 major groups and 17 NGOs have been registered to attend the meeting.

"The Solo Meeting would be a milestone towards the process to establish institutional frame for sustainable development for the sake of mankind," Dana A. Kartakusuma, the environment minister's special staff for economic and sustainable development affairs said in the statement.

The Solo Meeting is co-organized by the Indonesian environmental affairs ministry and UNCSD (United Nations Conference for Sustainable Development).
