Two servicemen and 13 civilians were killed by a series of blasts at a fireworks warehouse in the city of Abadan, the Turkmen government said on Sunday.

The Commission for Emergency Response presented the casualty report to Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow on Sunday, according to Interfax news agency.

The Turkmen Foreign Ministry initially denied any casualties in the blasts on Thursday night, saying the warehouse caught fire due to hot weather.

Explosions ripped through a fireworks depot outside Turkmenistan's capital Ashgabat Thursday, reportedly killing and wounding nearly 100 people.
