Vietnam, U.S. to hold joint navy activities in July

Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nguyen Phuong Nga said at a press conference here on Thursday that the United States and Vietnam will hold joint naval activities in the Vietnamese central port city Da Nang on July 15- 21.

The spokesperson said three U.S Navy vessels, USS Preble, USS Chung Hoon and United States Naval Ship (USNS) Safeguard, will visit Tien Sa port of Da Nang.

The U.S. Navy visit is part of a scheduled annual activity, which aims to increase the cooperation between the two navies' humanitarian activities and exchange professional knowledge, she said.
